In this lesson I show you how the distance you stand away from your subject affects how near and far elements are rendered. I show you how longer lenses can help compress space and wider lenses can help to exaggerate the distance between objects. I also show examples of using a longer lens to produce a wider view by stitching a panorama and issues you can run into when shooting with either a longer lens or higher aperture settings. In the end, I hope that you start to think differently about the focal length of the lens you use so you understand that it has a lot more influence on your image that just how much stuff fits in the frame.Note: There are no downloadable practice images for this lesson.
