I’ve put my house up for sale and as soon as it sells, I’ll be purchasing and living full-time on a bus. That’s one reason this blog is called ‘Where Is Ben’ since it will chronicle my travels.
The idea is to drive to some of the seminars I present, take photos at national parks between events and continue to write books and develop DVD training products.
The bus will be equipped with a sleeper sofa, lounge chair, kitchen, dinette, washer/dryer, dishwasher, queen sized bed, three TV sets and satellite Internet access. I’ll be able to travel over 1400 miles with out refueling. And survive for two full weeks without having to refill the tanks or plug into electricity (it has a generator, batteries and large water tanks).
You don’t do anything half-way, do you Ben?
LOLOL! VERY nice rig, and very cool way to do your thing — my compliments!
Sweet! So what size fuel tank lets you drive that beast for 1400 miles without refueling?
The size of the fuel tanks varies from between 160 and 300 Gallons and the bus gets between 5 and 8 MPG depending on how much you pack into it (weight) and how you drive. Most of the ones I’m looking at would be able to carry at least 200 gallons of fuel and should get around 7 MPG.

So will you paint your name and stuff on it or will it be shiny-chrome all over like in the photo?
I hope you’ll get a bus-driver to, because having you in the drivers’ seat will be too much of adventure and too less of Photoshop 🙂
Hope one day you’ll get a plane and train overseas, too!
More like this photo… I’m looking into getting sponsors, so there might be a few logos on the back or somewhere, but I doubt they’ll be too huge unless someone like the Discovery Channel signs on (got any contacts there? 🙂
I’ll be driving it myself… I really enjoy driving them. You see over the largest SUV that’s in front of (same height as truckers) and can see more of the landscape.

So I guess we’ll be seeing some tips & tricks on how to improve photos taken trough the windscreen of a bus soon? 🙂
I do know a couple of photographers from National Geographic, but that is NG in my country. 🙂
Ok then. Wish you tons of luck with the (phew, i’m beginning to realise what this actually means!) bus and all the gas and driving and all that…
Hi Ben here is a link to inspire or at least amuse you on your travels http://www.roadsideamerica.com/index.html
Thanks for the link Frances… I’m always entertained by the unusual stuff you can find around america. I’ve stayed at many unusual B&B’s on my travels… everything from a TeePee to a Lighthouse and everyting in between.
