Today, I drove from Niland, California (which is near the Salton Sea) to Winslow, Arizona. On my way, I passed some great old neon signs and started following Route 66 again once I got to Flagstaff, AZ. I plan to follow Route 66 for the next few days and cover the area between Flagstaff and Oklahoma City before flying out to speak at two gigs.
Above is my absolute favorite Neon sign to date. It’s located in Winden, AZ, which is a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, which proves that it’s always a good idea to stay off the interstate if you want to find photogenic subjects to shoot.
On my next trip, I’ll be spending a few extra days in both Vancouver, BC and London… let me know if you have any secret shooting locations you’d like to share 🙂
Ben – Not sure about your dates so there’s a chance I will be on assignment when you visit Vancouver, but if I am around I would be thrilled to show you the city I love. I’m based in Vancouver – if you tell my what kind of things you want to shoot I would love to make it happen for you and give you the insider’s scoop.

That could indeed be one of the best signs ever! I’m such a sucker for those type of things, so I really enjoy your blog seeing what you’re coming across!
