Yesterday I drove from Needles, CA to Calico, CA, which is a few miles away form Barstow, CA. I followed Route 66 for most of the day and passed through Esses, Goffs, Fenner, Amboy, Danby, Cadiz Summit, Amboy, Ludlow, Newberry Springs and Daggett. It was really a full day of driving and shooting. I ended up filling two 8GB Compact Flash cards and had to offload some images in order to start a fresh card. Above are a few random images I shot yesterday. I have two more days to make my way to Los Osos, CA where I’ll be presenting a week-long Advanced Photoshop for Photographers workshop.

I’ll bet that old Airstream has some stories to tell. I like the composition for that one.
I guess that number kit for the gas pricing board was light on 4’s! The owner has no doubt stocked up on Sharpies.
