Tomorrow morning I'll be boarding a flight to Asia to teach a 14 day workshop. After that, I'll have three weeks off to explore other areas which will include Thailand and possibly India.
Quick Bus Project Update: Today I purchased an RV that had been in an accident to use as a donor vehicle for the vintage bus project. I'll end up transplanting the engine, transmission, rear end, brakes and electronic systems from this rig into my vintage bus. That will give me a low-mile modern drivetrain that should be just right for the vehicle. I also acquired a 7.5KW diesel generator today. I hope I will return to find progress on this project.
I will return to the states on January 6th.
Hey I feel you on the vintage bus we have a 64 corvair van for a rolling business card I just got it out of the shop getting the engine rebuilt last week and have already racked up over 1500 miles. Look forward to seeing more on the bus
Although I do not know you, I am sincerely sorry to see your father recently passed away. It is always so hard to say goodbye. Take care and know there are people out here who have you in their thoughts.
Hi Ben, Just curious if Bob Rowsell in San Diego is planning to do your bus conversion. Did you find the exact Cummins and Allison combo you were looking for? I am in Los Angeles and would like to come down and check out your new bus project….
