Our near future plans are to explore New Orleans for a few days (Karen has never been there), continue on to Atlanta for just shy of a week to visit the usual suspects (Eddie Tapp, Kevin Ames, Jimmy D and more) and then make our way to New Jersey (near Philly). Karen's parents haven't met me yet (they live in New Jersey, close to Philadelphia) and we plan to swap out my Jeep Liberty for Karen's blue/white Mini Cooper, which should make for a much more enjoyable play car to tow behind the bus. After that, we plan to attend the Gateway Burn in St. Louis (a Burning Man-related event that should reunite some of the folks I hung out with late last year).
In the next 30 days, I'll also be flying to San Francisco, CA and Detroit, MI to present my newly updated Photoshop for Photographers seminar.
Safe travels!
hey Ben, looks like you’re going to all the places we just stayed. If you want a good safe RV park in New Orleans go to Ponchartrain Landing up by the lake. We researched all of them and went to see the one right at the FQ and did NOT feel safe staying there. 8-10′ high walls all around with razor wire, armed guards at night and we were told 5-6 gun shots at night in the area. No thanks!
Lake Ponchartrain http://www.pontchartrainlanding.com/ is a bit further away, only 10 minutes and they have a free shuttle bus in and back 3 times a day to the quarter. We found it quite and safe and good washrooms, etc. We parked right by the water.

we’re behind 6-8 weeks on our blog too so I totally get now how easy it is to get behind when you’re traveling. Haven’t done any N.O. photos yet but shot 1600+ there. Look forward to seeing your shots from that city
It will be great to meet you at Gateway! 🙂
