Today, I explored Rialto, CA in the morning, then followed Route 66 through San Bernardino, got on the interstate and cruised to the Salton Sea area. I explored the North East section of the lake, which included an abandoned motel and much more. I’ll be spending a few days in this general area… it’s very hot, but there should be quite a few interesting things to shoot.

Above is a heavily processed shot from a place called "Aces & Spades" that I shot today. In the example above, I wanted to transform the graffiti on the walls into something that might resemble neon. This involved several layers including one that has Surface Blur applied and set to difference mode along with another layer with High Pass applied using Overlay mode. You can see a more "normal" version after the jump that has only been processed in Camera Raw.
