Today is the last day of the Great Smoky Mountains workshop I’ve been teaching with Charlie Borland and Marv Miller.
The image above was created by shooting a tree while looking straight up using a fisheye lens. I then cleaned up the edges of the frame where I could see some grass and people standing. Once I had a clean sky, I duplicated the layer, flipped it vertically and then moved it vertically to line up with the original. As a final touch, I rotated the entire document 90° counter clockwise. Fascinating image … a tree that resembles a butterfly (kind of). And a unique look at the colors of autumn.
